The Brazil international’s fine goal capped an impressive performance for the number nine in general, who provided four key passes, had a 100% dribble success rate and won three total duels too.

And after seeing his performance, Liverpool fans flooded to Twitter to voice their thoughts on their forward.

A couple of fans insisted that Firmino was deserving of the man of the match award for the Reds following his winning goal.

Some Liverpool supporters also hailed Firmino’s work-rate and energy, with one fan in particular hoping that he is now back to his best.

Whilst Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah continue to shine bright with their sheer number of goals – they were last season’s joint-winners of the Premier League’s Golden Boot – Firmino’s contributions and influence on this Liverpool side perhaps gets overlooked. The Brazilian once again showed just how important he is to Klopp with a big goal in a big game, that ultimately decided the outcome of the match. So whilst his teammates may take the spotlight, there can be no questioning that the Reds’ number nine is similarly invaluable.
